Retreat for Rest

When planning the Day Retreats, I consider the seven types of rest: sensory, emotional, social, physical, mental, spiritual and creative.

Sensory Rest: The setting is great for this- I choose the NT Footprint because it has a private woodland. The only sounds will be the river and birds. I also invite a phone-free space during the retreat and offer a number for your close ones to use in case they need to reach you.

Emotional Rest: I aim to create an accepting and inclusive space where people feel included.

Social Rest: The activities are a balanced mix of time spent with others in larger and smaller groups and time alone with other-than-humans. You are welcome to follow your individual needs and take time out whenever feels good for you.

Physical Rest: Restorative yoga, gentle strengthening, mindful walking

Mental Rest: A brain for your busy mind by simply being away from your usual life; also activities that take focus and offer flow.

Spiritual Rest: Connecting with the rest of nature can help us to remember we belong to the world, that we are connected with more than ourselves. Activities to cultivate joy, wonder, and awe.

Creative Rest: Natural art, body connection to feed and nourish the creative parts of you, that isn't about judgment.

The next retreat is on 6th April in Windermere.
